This section will review the cultural meaning and interpretation of objects not listed in the main menu (that is, other than IAU Constellations, Historical Asterisms, and Deep Sky Objects). Astronomical representations will be those related primarily to the perspective of cultural interpretation of basic celestial phenomena, or observation with the unaided eye, rather than current knowledge. For those bodies which were discovered with the telescope, our focus is on their initial discovery and interpretation, rather than 20th-century developments. Links to external sites will provide up-to-date scientific information.
